How to use AI to read data faster and better from logistics documents and process it digitally

Digitisation is not an end in itself in logistics (you know that even better than we do). The goal of digitalisation is primarily automation. Through automatic processing of digital information, goods and deliveries should be recorded faster and better in the ERP in order to list them faster online or to invoice delivered goods faster. On the way to digital processes, in many of our customer projects the increase in automation is blocked by the (expensive) manual capture of documents and the data/information they contain. The reasons for this are manifold:

  • Short relationships and high dynamics with business partners
  • Low level of digitisation among business partners
  • Hardly any sensible and pragmatic alternatives to paper-based processes

The solution: AI! The information contained in the documents can be reliably read out with AI and made available in a structured way to subsequent business processes. Even and especially with changing business partners. This reduces the little value-added "typing work" of your employees. Standard documents in particular, such as incoming or outgoing invoices, customs documents, delivery notes or waybills, can be largely automated with modern machine learning processes.
